Polypropylene

Description:

Polypropylene film is a vinyl polymer obtained by extrusion. It is characterized by high crystallinity, very low permeability to water and high permeability to oxygen. It has excellent electrical insulation properties, is resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols and oils, is suitable for food use, but is not resistant to oxidizing agents and hot organic solvents. For details on the specifications of some of the used polypropylene, see the attached technical data sheet.

Only some types of polypropylene that we process are on the attachment. They can be combined with other materials such as: polythene, polypropylene, paper and over or under strip aluminium.

Use:

Bi-oriented polypropylene is a bi-oriented polymer film with good optical properties, obtained by extrusion, and is not heat-sealed. It is not suitable for direct contact with food.

Metallic bi-oriented polypropylene is a bi-oriented polymer metallic film, obtained by extrusion. It is characterized by good adhesion of the aluminium on the metallic side and is not heat-sealed. The metallic side is not suitable for contact with food while the internal side is.

Coextruded polypropylene is bi-oriented polymer film obtained by extrusion and with both sides heat-sealed. It has good optical properties, good barrier to moisture and low barrier to oxygen. It is suitable only with solid foods. It is not suitable as ribbon packaging

The metallic coextruded polypropylene is a bi-oriented polymer metallic film obtained by extrusion. It is characterized by good adhesion of the aluminium on the metallic side and is mono-sealing. The metallic side is not suitable for contact with food, while the internal side is. It has a good moisture and oxygen barrier. It is not suitable as ribbon packaging.

Opalescent polypropylene is a vinyl bi-oriented polymer cavitated film, obtained by extrusion. It is heat-sealed on both sides and suitable for contact with food. It has a good moisture barrier and has an opaque form (opalescent)

Lacquered polypropylene is a bi-oriented polymer film with good optical properties, obtained by extrusion and with both sides lacquered. Depending on the type of lacquer, it provides a good barrier to water vapour, to oxygen and flavourings and is suitable only for solid foods. It is heat-sealable on both sides. It is not suitable for wrapping or ribbon packaging.
